Flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, viscometers, and various other kinds of electronic instrumentation often come with NPT conduit connections and internal terminal blocks for wiring. Installing connectors on these instruments makes them more portable and makes repairs for damaged cables considerably faster and safer. No searching for manuals or diagrams to determine the pin-out and no equipment damaged because it was wired wrong. Just plug in a new cable and it is quickly back in operation.
