Our History

Compass Instruments, LLC began back in 1990 when the owner, Joe Willson, (who has extensive experience with oil/gas well stimulation equipment as well as other industrial electronic instrumentation), designed and installed all the well stimulation instrumentation on the largest stimulation vessel ever built.

We have built about 80 of the most reliable frac controllers ever built. Our 12 to 24V, DC/DC converter outputs up to 10 amps and will outlast anything else you can buy on the market. Our over pressure shutdown system is the world’s fastest, (we claim 2 milliseconds but it’s almost always faster than that). Our PWM transmitter can drive an EDC, or other hydraulic controls, directly. Our frequency splitter is effective and has isolated outputs. Our 4-20 mA dampener will rid your 4-20 mA signal of spikes and noise, giving you a clean signal for data logging, display and control. We could go on and on, but you’d just think we were bragging!  So we challenge you to try our products, because we feel your report will be just as positive as ours. And if for some reason you are not happy with our products, we will gladly give you a refund. 

We deal with a great number of distributors on a daily basis. We know you have other things to do besides chasing parts. So if you need parts for your electronic instrumentation, even if it was built by someone else, we’d like of be of service to you!  So if you have a relay that has burned contacts, a switch that is broke, a connector that has seen better days, we’d be glad to help when we can. Just send us the part number and manufacturer name of the part you need, (snap a picture with your cell phone if possible and send it also), and send it to us and we will work with you in providing the perfect solution!
